Monsters, Inc. Fails to Improve with Added Outtakes

(by Monsters, Inc. failed to improve upon last Friday's numbers, even with the much publicized addition of "outtakes" that are now playing during the movie's closing credits. On Friday, Monsters, Inc. made only $1.6 million at the box office which is a large drop from last Friday's $2.3 million, which was a massive drop from the previous Friday's $9.9 million (day after Thanksgiving).

In another blow, Shrek has now caught up and passed Monsters, Inc. in the day-by-day box office comparisons. At one time Monsters, Inc. held a lead in the day by day comparisons of $20 million. Monsters, Inc. could get a boost, however, from upcoming Christmas holiday viewings.
