Osmosis
Jones Producer Wanted Big Action Feel
(by digitalmediafx.com) The producer of Osmosis Jones,
Zak Penn, is speaking out about the new live action mixed with
animation movie from Warner Bros.
According
to Penn, "We were sure from the beginning that we wanted
this movie to feel like a big action movie. Something in which
the animated portion looked like a cop show or a detective movie,
with a heightened sense of design. In addition to that, it has
evolved to have a real retro, noirish look thats very original.
We didnt just want to make a comedy. We wanted to make something
where the wild action and special effects could stand up to what
youd see in a live action film."

The animation
director for Osmosis Jones, Tom Sito, also comments on
his role in the movie.
"I was
shown the script and immediately struck by how imaginative and
different it was. Someone once said Animation should take
up where live action leaves off. With the latest in digital
technologies, the latest developments in computers, live action
can go pretty far now. In Osmosis Jones I knew wed
be taking people even beyond the borders of reality-based imagination,
to places theyve never been before."
Osmosis
Jones opens domestically on August 10. It is opening up against
American Pie 2, Spy Kids: Special Edition, The Others,
and Rat Race. In addition it will see continued strong
competition from Rush Hour 2 and The Princess Diaries
which open on August 3. Osmosis Jones was originally rated
PG-13 for crude language and bodily humor. However, the language
was edited to bring the rating down to a PG. The movie fits into
the genre of "gross out comedy."

of the Day - Shrek Swirl Lawsuit Puts Family in Dis-Flavor
According
to The Record:

they became national news, the Janze family has been maligned
for everything from filing a supposedly frivolous lawsuit to how
they named their daughter.

are suing Baskin-Robbins over an ice cream sprinkled with Pop
Rocks (Shrek Swirl). Yes, they allege that a scoop of the stuff
put their 5-year-old in the hospital. And yes, her name is Fifi..."
