Positive
Buzz From Harry Potter Premiere
(by
digitalmediafx.com) Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
premiered in London on Sunday and those who viewed it, including
royalty, gave the movie rave reviews.
Thousands
of people packed Leicester Square to get a glimpse of the stars
attending the World Premiere. Those who stayed after were treated
to Harry Potter author JK Rowling exiting the theater and giving
a big thumbs up to fans, who then loudly cheered.
"It is
brilliant," commented the Duchess of York. "I thoroughly
enjoyed it and the girls loved it."
Opening on
November 16, Harry Potter will play on a record 4,000 screens
and is expected to easily set the all time three day box office
record. Some box office analysts believe it will also break Titanic's
all time record. The movie runs two and half hours long. The visual
effects supervisor for the movie is Rob Legato. Several visual
effects companies, including Industrial Light and Magic, were
used for the hundreds of visual effects shots.
Here's a synopsis
of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone:
"Based
on the first of J.K. Rowling's popular children's novels about
Harry Potter, the film tells the story of a boy who learns on
his eleventh birthday that he is the orphaned son of two powerful
wizards and possesses unique magical powers of his own. Invited
to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Harry embarks
on the adventure of a lifetime. At Hogwarts, he finds the home
and the family he has never had."
A sequel is
already in the works for release next year.

Media FX Reviews Monsters, Inc.
(by digitalmediafx.com) Digital Media FX has posted its review
of Monsters, Inc. giving Pixar's latest animated film an
8.5 out of 10 rating. Here's a quote from the review:
"Pixar
seems to be the only animation company that can "do no wrong"
with its animated productions. From Toy Story to Monsters,
Inc. the company has done an excellent job of entertaining
children and adults with cutting edge computer animation, good
stories, and strong humor. A lot of companies, including Disney,
could learn a lot from studying Pixar's techniques..."
