Harry Potter
Fans Steal Merchandise
(by digitalmediafx.com) Fans of what is expected to be the
biggest movie opening in cinema history - for Harry Potter and
the Sorcerer's Stone - stole Harry Potter merchandise from a movie
screening at a Scottish movie theater.
According
to the London Daily Record, "They stripped thousands of pounds
worth of memorabilia from the walls of the Ster Century in Leith.
Giant 8ft cardboard cut-out figures, posters and banners all vanished
within seconds of the credits rolling."
The FX-filled
mythical adventure movie opens in the U.S. on November 16 in over
3,500 theaters and on more than 7,000 movie screens.
The Record
says there were over 1000 posters, hoardings, and cutout figures
that were all stolen within 15 minutes of the show's end. The
items had been loaned to the theater, for the screening, by Warner
Bros.
