Critical
Acclaim Continues for Harry Potter
(by digitalmediafx.com) Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
continues to receive critical acclaim from critics in the UK and
the United States. The latest U.S. critics to praise the movie
are Roger Ebert and Richard Roeper who both gave the movie a thumbs
up and compared it to the classic film, The Wizard of Oz.
Already set
to break nearly every box office record there is, the two and
a half hour movie will gain additional benefit from the wide and
near unanimous praise it is receiving from critics and the press.
The addition of a new Star Wars: Attack of the Clones trailer
won't hurt either.
"...Harry
Potter vividly imagines the world of wizards, magic school
and mystical creatures found in J.K. Rowling's series of children's
adventure books," says Kirk Honeycutt in his mostly praise
filled review of the movie for The Hollywood Reporter.
"Clearly, the sky's the limit, not only for worldwide box-office
but video, DVD, television and merchandising."
Meanwhile,
the Daily Variety calls the movie "smartly produced and elaborately
manufactured."
Harry Potter
and the Sorcerer's Stone opens this Friday. Some theater showings
are already sold out due to very strong advanced ticket sales.
Box office analysts agree that the movie will easily surpass Shrek
as the number 1 grossing movie of the year.
